30 Days of Thanksgiving – Worship
Today is Sunday. Specifically, it is the last Sunday of the liturgical year – Christ the King Sunday. I love this Sunday as it reminds me that, for Christians, Jesus is our chosen Lord. We also celebrate and remember his promise to come and restore the world to what it was like before humans started to disobey God. I like that we celebrate the coming of Jesus in full power and majesty the Sunday before Advent begins. Advent is also about waiting and watching for the Messiah, only to be surprised when he came as a baby. I am thankful that I serve a God who is faithful to promises made but is also a God who surprises us with the predictably unpredictable! Thank you, God, that you still speak your words of hope, love, justice, forgiveness, and righteousness. Thank you that you are steadfast and true and that each day you invite me to live in and through you.
